When talking about rappers and hip-hop stars, the name Rick Ross is one you can’t miss. This multi-talented singer, rapper, and entrepreneur has achieved it all; fame, fortune, and applause. He has four Grammy nominations to his name and won the 2010 men of the year award.
I had the opportunity to talk with Rick, where I got to dissect his pain (past), his price (Journey), and his prize (Result). I promise you; this is the one podcast you can’t afford to miss.
Here’s a sneak peek of what awaits you:
“If you really want to be a CEO, you’ve got to love watching other people progress as well, and let your work speak for itself” – Rick Ross
William Leonard Roberts, or as we all know him, Rick Ross, is at the pinnacle of success. He has built up a multi-million empire and has generated millions with over seven income streams. So, there’s no doubt that he knows what he’s talking about.
However, his journey to the top wasn’t smooth. Here’s how Rick describes the pillars that moved things around his life.
“If you are not mentally prepared, there’s nothing your body can do for you” – Rick Ross
Life is 80% your mentality and 20% the mechanics. This is what I teach, and Rick Ross agrees 100% with this theory. He says, “If your mind is not mentally prepared, your body cannot sustain the pain that you have to go through to make it to the top – To become a multi-millionaire.”
He believes that achieving that multi-millionaire status isn’t an overnight thing. It takes a lot of working parts and good timing.
He further adds that you need to enjoy watching other people succeed in your work. Because once you’ve built your value, everyone will put you on top of the table.
“As an entrepreneur, mentorship is almost mandatory” – Rick Ross
According to Rick Ross, mentorship is crucial because there’ll be a price to pay along the way. Mentorship guides you from the point of experience and helps you understand that you need a structure for all your businesses.
Rick also says that mentorship and leadership starts from your life. In fact, he says, “Your life is the most important job you’ll ever have. Your life is the only true business you’ll ever be the CEO of.”
So, you need mentorship, not just for your businesses, but for your life also.
“Before you DM somebody and ask for a favor, you need to present something of value to them” – Rick Ross
“If you want to become a successful CEO and entrepreneur, you need to master the art of partnerships.” This is what Rick said about partnerships. He says that before you want someone to hear you out, show them that you have something to offer. Show them what you can bring to the table.
He says that you need to show them that you are as ambitious as they are – that you are on the same frequency. He says that your partnerships should favor your business.
Before making those partnerships, ask yourself, “How will this partnership affect my business?”
“If you, for any second think that it’s not a competition, you’re lying to yourself” – Rick Ross
Rick says that in whatever you are doing, there are thousands of people who are doing ten times more than what you’re doing. So, the only way you’re going to make it is by putting in that extra effort, taking charge and responsibility for your work, and giving it your best.
He says that you need to over deliver. If they ask you for something, deliver double that; make yourself invaluable in the market.
But he says, as long as you love what you do and work on it, you’re going to win.
“What makes me a boss isn’t what I say, it’s what I don’t say” – Rick Ross
Rick Ross has said time and again that knowing what to do is as important as knowing what not to do. And this policy is what he’s used to build his $80 million empire he has today. Throughout the conversation, Rick proved that his system, ‘Your hustle determines your salary,’ works. And so, work as if you’re broke.
Rick Ross revealed so many secrets and tips that he’s used to continue growing his empire, and so, if you’re looking to build a multi-million dollar business, this is the podcast you can’t miss.
