And in this short fourteen-minute conversation, I got to pick his mind as he shared with me his experiences and inspirations to make money.

“It’s not hard to make money. Harder is to live a fully empowered life.” – Jordan Belfort
American author, motivational speaker, and former stockbroker Jordan Belfort has lived it all. He was successful, had a massive fall when he went to jail, and still managed to bounce back, stronger, and richer than ever. So, when it comes to making money, he really knows what he is doing.
When I asked him what money means to him, Jordan says that he looks at money as a problem that needs to be solved. But how does he solve it?

The key is believing in yourself
“If you believe that you’re capable of achieving success, then you’ll act on it.” – Jordan Belfort
According to him, becoming successful has less to do with your skills (although they are crucial), and more to do with your psychological mindset. He says, “It’s not about skills and strategies, those are crucial; it’s also about your inner game.”
In fact, he agrees with what I endeavor to teach, that success is 80% your mind, and 20% mechanics. And you can’t have one without the other, so you need both to succeed.
Invest in yourself
“You can’t learn all the skills about getting rich without actually getting rich” – Jordan Belfort
“Your number 1 investment should be in yourself.” This is the first thing Jordan said about investment. He believes that if you want to get rich, then educate yourself in the real strategies that matter when it comes to making money.
To him, knowledge is the real estate of the 21st century.
So, he advises that you invest in knowledge and money-making skills, like sales, marketing, and how to run a business. “When you grow yourself as a human being, you can’t help but get rich.”
The power of communication
“Without good communication skills, it’s impossible to not only make money, but also to live an empowered life” – Jordan Belfort
Jordan emphasizes that communication is the key to making money. You need to know how to sell yourself, your ideas, your products, and the concepts that you have. He says, “Sales is the most important skill or none, when it comes to achieving wealth and success.”
Communication is the tool that will convince people to get involved in your great ideas. So, master how to close sales.
And even if you’re not a born closer, Jordan says that sales is a skill you can learn – regardless of your abilities and experience level.
Understand your WHY?
“Once you really know your ‘why’ you want to achieve, and it’s part of an integrated vision for your future, you become unstoppable.” – Jordan Belfort
Jordan went through one of the biggest disasters anyone can go through, but he still bounced back. And he attributes this to his Why.
He says that when you have a powerful why, a good reason why you want to achieve what you want, you can overcome whatever obstacle is on your way. He further adds that your why, must also be complemented by your skills for you to succeed.
His super-combination for making money is skills, vision, and understanding your why.

Jordan covers several topics about making money and becoming rich all through our conversation. But the one thing he emphasizes is that, to make money, you have to invest in yourself – in improving your skills, and uncovering your why.
